Not been to Motormech before?
Take some time...
Some
feedback from some of our many customers from the Fiat Coupe
club uk
Had
my 16vt for nearly eight years now. If it weren't for Paul and
the gang at Motormech it would have been scrapped long ago.
Sound advice, good service and always a smile and a brew to
go with it.

a fair drag.Had my 16vt for nearly eight years now. If it weren't

I
started with Paul at his original Premises with my old Alfa
156 and he's fettled the wifes old Stilo - sold me (and will
'mod!') my current LE and I'lll use him for her new Sedici......
Its damn hard to find someone you can trust these days but I
knew I was onto a good bloke first time I used Paul when he
vaselined the 156 Battery terminals without me asking and has
always done a great, honest and well priced job.
Only issue now is the current unit is too close to the Bullring
and whatever I spend ont the car the wife has her revenge shopping!!!!
Same
for me Motormech is top notch - I've got one of those Longlife
exhausts fitted and am well happy with it - I said nothing too
chavy and it isn't.
Spencer,
Club Member 196,Berkshire...Paul is the ONLY mechanic I trust
with my coupe.
Turbo_Tob,
Fiat Coupe Club,... brilliant garage which i reccomend to everyone,
Paul is the only person i trust to work on my car other than
myself. First time i took it in he reset my airbag light for
free without me even mentioning it and has since carried out
various jobs to the highest standard. Next visit is booked next
wednesday for an inner steering joint, i'm prepared to be equally
impressed!
im
getting bullring withdrawal sindrome lol.
i think that cost more than the car being fixed.
8 hours or so for a clutch and cambelt and other handful of
stuff and i must have had 15 coffee, 3 protien bars, 3 meals,
7 xmas presents, a new phone and lots of other bits and a £800=
bill to return to but i must say it was a very good price for
what was done and paul done a good job and even put up with
my fine details a going on nd on about my car lol.
good work
Just
had my 20vt here for a full service, very impressed with the
work carried out and the speed in which it was all done, very
good price as well. I had a full service and mentioned other
bits and bobs to paul, he fixed my petrol cap/wheel arch liner
and unblocked my washer jets and even gave me a free bottle
of semi sythetic oil and has minimised my oil leak, top man
although its just under an hour to get here, its well worth
the trip. I will be returning here for future work/servicing.
well
got there about 8.30 this morning its 160 miles for me to get
there so stayed the night in premier inn, said hello to paul
and off i went to the bullring god its a big place, jobs for
paul to do were
1,clucth
cg fast road.
2,cam belt water pump and ac belts
3,oil and filter
4,rubber sleve on steering rake
5,trotle cable
6,handbrake cables
7,find and fix leek on thermostat
now he said it would be done in a day which i thought was mad
no way, anyway buy 4.30 i was on my way home and everything is
sorted spot on,ive hurd so much about this man,and now i no
its all true he,s a bloody star,a massive thanks motor mech
aka paul and crew they are super stars of the coupe world.
...also
i was messing around today with the car and seen that paul has
even done my airbag light,he never said a word, theres places
that were going to charge me 40 quid for that, like i said superstars
Mine
was in wed - somewhere there was a communication break down
between myself and Motormech - no doubt on my part - and it
had actually been booked in for the 30th instead of the 1st
July, meaning i turned up a day late - however, they fitted
my inner steering joint in between other jobs by about mid day
- can't ask more than that! Better still, they charged about
55 + VAT when the part alone is about 30 and i've heard the
job is a nightmare due to access, and the price even included
tracking so if i had got the part and fitted it myself, then
had the car tracked i would have ended up paying out the same
or more!
I
just want to add my positive experience of Paul and the guys
at Motormech. His is the only garage that I would dream of letting
loose on my Coupe and I regularly do a 350mile round trip just
to have its routine servicing and MOT done there each year.
When
the Coupe has let me down twice, I've had the car trailered
down to Motormech to have whatever its needed doing there to
sort it and the guys have always come through for me, with the
minimum of fuss and all at a great price.
I
really cannot recommend Motormech highly enough. They really
are 100% top notch.
Just
to add my voice to the crowd.
Getting
up at 4am to drop it off and catch the train back to stoke for
work should demonstrate how much I value the service.
My
mates all think I'm mad, but it's worth it for the prices and
the peace of mind that a coupe pro has looked at your car
Just
collected my car from Motormech - Fitted my strut brace, changed
my cambelt, cam cover gasket and a full service.
Top
guy, top work and my best to his receptionist who was knowledgeable
professional and friendly.
Without
this forum I would never have known about him. To my Irish brethern
- it was worth the trip to leave the car in such good hands.
Yes
top guys at motormech, was ther today had this horrible tapping
noise near the turbo ,it was a loose bolt on the manifold 20
mins and sorted, and advised me to get new break discs and pads
so looking forward to going there again in three weeks ,i know
this has been said a thousand times if youve got any problems
get down to motormech.
Bev&Kev...
so
today was supposed to be wheel refurb day at burton's new branch
of thewheelspecialist.co.uk
took
the car there 8.30, and when i got back to the office i had
a phone call saying they'd broken a wheel bolt already and that
they couldn't shift the others. they said it was whoever had
last put them on doing them too tightly. bolox!!.
long
story short, i took the 30 mile drive to motormech at short
notice for them to inspect/repair. within 30 mins the broken
bolt was out, all the others were removed and copperslipped
again, and replaced. i even got a shiny new bolt to replace
the busted one.
short
notice, great service and the princely sum of next to nowt!
neither paul nor mark would accept a penny, not even for a beer...i
had to promise to take them for a beer one wsaturday after marks
hols and paul even offered to let me stay with him and svet
for the night!!!
tell
me, where do you get this sort of service elsewhere these days???
top
blokes, top job, happy coop again....
As
the title says... my 20VT developed a screeching noise on cold
startup about 2 weeks. Paul at Motor Mech diagnosed it over
a quick Sunday afternoon phone call as a leaking exhaust manifold.
I also needed my alternator belt changing and struggled to manage
this myself
So
I booked in and travelled down to Brum last night with my Mrs
to stay over and make a night of it... lucky I was off work
on holiday! It was also my first proper visit to Brum and Motor
Mech
Dropped
the coop off this morning at 8am for Paul to sort out... and
asked him to check my clunking suspension and none working aircon
Sure
enough 6 hours later, a new exhaust manifold gasket and a couple
of replaced snapped studs had cured my screeching noise, an
aircon regas got me some nice cold air with a nice new belt
and tensioner driving the compressor and a new set of wishbones
solved the clunking!
And
I was back home in time for tea!
Cheers
Paul. I cannot recommend you enough
see again at some
point no doubt!

We
travel from manchester everytime the coupe and the wifes hgt
need the slightest thing. The distance is a small price to pay
for the peace of mind of having somebody who is reliable and
knows what they are doing looking after the cars. The wifes
hgt went down on a transporter a few months ago that paul has
arranged and got us a really good price for it. Definately a
blessing to the coupe world!!!!!!
it's
a massive plus for me having work carried out by Paul. In the
past I'ved put off going to him due to the distance. But due
to being disappointed by some recent work carried out by a more
local 'specialist' I didn't hesitate to make the trip this time.
Paul instills massive confidence with his knowledge of the coop
and his skills are obviously excellent.
Also
being on holiday from work helped for my trip and we had a good
night out around Broad Street in Brum where there's loadsa bars
and restaurants There's a Premier Inn only a minutes walk from
Broad St and 20 minutes from Motor Mech.
I
might try the early start another time if I want to avoid the
extra costs of staying over. But Paul will definately be seeing
my coop again!
I'm
more than happy to drive up from Taunton if I need anything
doing.
Usually
make a day of it and go shopping, but then that get's expensive
..... always a downside
But
then the Coupe is always well looked after!
Very
impressed with the work carried out by motormech today, had
a brand new valeo clutch, front brake pads and throttle cable,
feels like a new car, took a while to get used to how responsive
the clutch/accelerator is though nice one paul!
I've
had quite a lot of work done there now and im thoroughly impressed,
theyre all friendly, answer any questions that u have and i
find the prices reasonable too, most important thing is that
the work carried out is spot on, well worth the distance mate
feel bad for dissing them on the forum over something daft thinking
about it (cant help being a virgo lol), i always jump in too
quickly
Another
Big Thumbs Up!
Dealt
with Paul for the first time on saturday during my 8 years of
coop ownership.
He carried out a minor service/checkover quickly & professionaly
on my plus for the right price, well happy I,ll be back!
Even
getting there & out was hassle free considering the location
of central b'ham next to the bullring shopping center on a saturday.
Our
first visit to Motormech on sat to collect our coop after having
a new Turbo fitted, Paul & Svetlana have been so patient
in sorting out our problems and all with no fuss.
Its great to have our car back smiles all round again we have
been so depressed without it.
A
big THANK YOU again
I've
taken my car to Paul for the last couple of years and have always
been very happy with the service (they've done loads on it -
cambelt, turbo, radiator, full suspension replacement, uprated
shocks, springs, regular servicing and my MOT's)
Two
weeks age I hit a buckle from a lorry loading strap which was
lying in the road. I saw it coming but due to traffic couldnt
drive around it. It must have hit my downpipe as it caused the
manifold to break (may actually have just been the last straw
- it was a welded unit and probably already cracked having been
on the car a couple of years)
I've
just started a new job and cant take any time off at the moment,
also I need the car to get to work every day and it really was
driving very badly...
I
spoke to Motormech last Monday and they managed to fit me in
on Friday. I drove down to Birmingham on Thursday night and
dropped my car off at Paul and Svetlana's house at about 9pm!
They invited me in for a cup of tea and a chat before calling
me a taxi back to the station.
I
picked up the car on Saturday morning and its fantastic - feels
like new again!
To
echo everyone else, fantastic service and amazing prices! I
have no doubt I would have given up coupe ownership many years
ago without being able to take my car to a garage I trust!
Paul,
Svetlana many many thanks for helping me out last week - I really
appreciate it and sharing my experience seems the least I can
do!
Ive
got a W reg 20v VIS Coupe which I had sent down to the boys
at Motormech. They went through the car with a fine tooth comb
and im pleased to say the car is running sweeter than sweet...clutch/timing
belts/alternator/service/console section/all fluids changed
you name it..it got sorted!
In my opinion they go over and above what a normal garage would
probably ever do so i was more than happy to get the train at
7.30am from Manchester to go collect the car!
A big Thumbs up....!!
Many
thanks to Paul and gang,
Just got back from there (4 hour drive back through awful traffic
and main route home closed!)
Very
satisfied with the level of care given to my coop with it's
cambelt change. Paul said I was just in time with it (it was
on 32K) Belt did look a wee bit knackered!
Despite
the 6 hour round trip, I'll be visiting again!
Cheers
Paul!
I
had forgotten about my MOT (have been use to using a work pool
car lately) , I contacted Motormech, Monday night, and got it
booked in for the next day, it failed on some corroded brake
pipes, which they fixed that day and a very reasonable price.
Thank
you for sorting this out
well
here we are again!!!
belts
done in double quick time and a price i found more comfortable
than expected - excellent stuff, cheers paul
As
most of you are all very aware from previous threads im having
some teething problems with my coupe.
I
live in scotland and Italian specialists are hard to come by
I
have heard good things about Motermech and but is it worth a
600 mile round trip
Ian
Paul
and the gang will sort it whatever the problem, and probably
fix a couple of things you didn't know were even wrong.
It's
only a 350 mile round trip for me but I do it!
For
the love of god though dont take the Mrs!
He's
situated walking distance from Birmingham Bull Ring, she'll
disspaear off into one of the clothes stores and you'll have
no money left to fix your car
